Programs Project Assistant 1099 Consultant (Part-Time)

• Coordinate administrative and logistical support for fellowships, trainings, conferences, membership initiatives, and other programmatic activities.
• Maintain project timelines, work plans, and task trackers to ensure deadlines are met.
• Draft and distribute routine communications to participants, speakers, fellows, vendors, and partners.
• Support participant communications and event logistics for trainings, conferences, and fellowship activities.

This role directly supports the Black Public Defender Association's mission to strengthen public defense and advance racial justice by ensuring the smooth execution of programs that develop and connect Black public defenders and allies.

• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in administrative support, project coordination, nonprofit operations, event coordination, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; experience with project management software such as ClickUp, Asana, Airtable, Trello, or similar platforms preferred.

Compensation: $25 per hour for approximately 20–30 hours per month (1099 independent contractor). This position does not include employee benefits. Work hours are flexible, but must be available during 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time as needed. Occasional evening/weekend hours and travel (up to 3 events per year) may be required; approved travel expenses reimbursed.
