Program & Membership Officer (Massachusetts & New England)

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate project implementation, contribute to planning and reporting, and assist with data collection and documentation of program and membership learning
  • Grow MASR's network by building relationships with student representatives and districts statewide, including initiating and advancing early-stage district membership conversations
  • Facilitate regular communication with MASR student leadership including support with online meetings, centering youth voice and decision-making
  • Support the organization and logistics of youth-led, in-person programming including conferences and assemblies
  • Conduct regional outreach and relationship-building across New England with student board members, school district leaders, and education organizations

Required qualifications:

  • Strong alignment with NSBMA's mission and commitment to meaningful youth participation in governance
  • Must be based in Massachusetts for the duration of the contract with access to reliable transportation
  • Experience in education, sales, youth organizing, nonprofit programming, or related fields
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting
  • Familiarity with student voice or student representation in education, and school board governance
  • Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, social sciences, or a related field is preferred
