Program Manager

• Administer student, scholarship, and grant programs to advance animal law education, including application development, outreach, tracking, and reporting.
• Manage planning and onsite operations for the annual Student Animal Law Convention, including registration and logistics.
• Support public records and FOIA initiatives by preparing requests, tracking status, and managing correspondence with agencies.
• Develop and maintain databases of regulatory materials, analyze data, and prepare reports to inform advocacy and policy work.

This role directly supports the Animal Legal Defense Fund's mission to protect animals through the legal system by advancing animal law education and promoting transparency in animal-exploitative industries, ultimately strengthening legal protections for animals.

• Bachelor's degree in pre-law, psychology, sociology, communication, political science, animal studies, or related field (or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of degree).
• 5+ years of experience in nonprofit, higher education, legal, advocacy, or research environment.
• Experience administering grants, scholarships, or educational programs; coordinating events; and conducting research or public records analysis.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with databases and project management platforms.
