Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to Acumen East Africa, including compliance with Canadian and Kenyan laws, maintaining legal status of local entities, and implementing risk management protocols
- Support programme process implementation, including due diligence assessments, contract drafting and review, and ensuring adherence to internal processes
- Assist with deal documentation and coordination for early-stage equity, debt, and other investments, including due diligence, investment documentation, and regulatory approvals
- Support project management initiatives, including developing templates, tools, and resources, and managing multiple workstreams with proactive priority management

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 2 years experience practicing transactional law and supporting legal projects across various stakeholders
- Familiarity with venture capital investing, financial concepts, investment vehicles, and similar transactions
- Strong organizational, project management, and stakeholder management skills with excellent written and verbal communication
- Permanently authorized to work in Kenya with a license to practice law, and amenable to working with different time zones
