Program Lead, Latin America and Caribbean

Core responsibilities:

• Spearheading ClientEarth's legal strategy focused on Latin America and the Caribbean, including strategic development and execution of cases and legal interventions in the U.S.
• Researching, analyzing, and developing strategies to employ U.S. law to address biodiversity loss and climate-related financial risks and opportunities relevant to companies and financial institutions operating or investing in LAC
• Evaluating and managing legal, reputational, and strategic risks and opportunities associated with potential cases and campaigns
• Representing the organization with donors and contributing to fundraising and donor engagement efforts where appropriate

This role creates positive change by spearheading legal work focused on Latin America and the Caribbean to address environmental issues, bringing about systemic change that protects the earth through strategic litigation and legal advocacy.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Law degree or equivalent (essential)
• Admission to practice in at least one U.S. state (essential)
• Significant litigation or complex legal advocacy experience (essential)
• Experience as a senior associate or partner at a top-tier U.S. law firm and/or experience leading strategic litigation teams to advance novel impact litigation (essential)
• Demonstrated interest in the intersection of climate change, biodiversity loss, Indigenous rights, and financial and corporate systems (essential)
