Overview The Program Director (Sacred Aging) will lead Sacred Spaces’ initiatives to prevent and respond to elder abuse and promote safety, dignity, and autonomy for older adults. This Director brings a deep subject-matter understanding of aging and elder abuse, providing both program leadership and hands-on program delivery and coordination. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing programs, educational resources, and partnerships that strengthen the capacity of Jewish institutions and communities to prevent and respond to elder abuse, while situating Seivah: Sacred Aging as an integrated part of Sacred Spaces’ work across the lifespan. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership and Implementation Design, manage, and deliver Sacred Aging initiatives, including, but not limited to, professional cohorts, train-the-trainer programs, and the Seivah Advisory Council. Develop practical, accessible tools, curricula, and resources that support Jewish institutions in preventing and responding to elder abuse, as well as tailored materials for older adults, caregivers and family members, and relevant professionals. Provide institutions guidance through trainings, policy development, consultation, and capacity-building strategies that strengthen prevention and response systems. Apply subject-matter expertise in elder abuse — including power and control dynamics, financial exploitation, neglect, emotional abuse, cognitive changes, and other capacity considerations — to shape prevention and response guidance. Strategy and Field-Building Lead community-based exploration of the feasibility of a coordinated Jewish communal response to elder abuse, including convening stakeholders and identifying gaps, opportunities, and models for collaboration. Build and maintain relationships with communal partners across aging, caregiving, safeguarding, and elder justice sectors to support program implementation and collaborative learning. Represent Sacred Spaces in national conversations, networks, and learning spaces focused on aging, elder justice, and abuse prevention, helping to position Sacred Aging within the broader field. Coordination and Grant Management Manage program logistics, timelines, and participant coordination for cohorts, trainings, and advisory convenings. Oversee and manage any external consultants that support Sacred Aging initiatives. Track program outcomes and assess effectiveness to inform continuous improvement. Oversee grant-related tracking and reporting, including collecting data, synthesizing outcomes, ensuring grant compliance, and contributing to narrative and financial reports. Integration Across the Lifespan Collaborate with internal teams to ensure coherence, connection, and alignment between Sacred Aging and other Sacred Spaces programs and services. As needed, partner with Sacred Spaces’ program team to design and deliver additional client services, including trainings, case consultation, assessments, policy development, etc. that address abuse prevention across the lifespan Position Structure Sacred Spaces is open to dividing the scope of this role into two complementary part-time roles, one focused primarily on program leadership and content expertise, and one focused on program coordination and grant management. This position is supported by grant funding and is contingent upon continued funding availability.
