Program Analyst

Core responsibilities:

• Conducting research, analyzing data, identifying trends, and preparing reports
• Determining program requirements and making recommendations to optimize programs, policies, procedures, and systems
• Drafting new or revised policies and procedures
• Assisting program managers with budget development, schedule tracking, and metric monitoring

This role supports the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information and Technology by analyzing programs and making recommendations to optimize operations, ultimately improving services for veterans.

Required skills and experience:

• 5 years of related experience required (8 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for education)
• Knowledge in planning, analyzing, and evaluating the effectiveness of operating programs
• Ability to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess operational effectiveness
• Experience in creating new methods of gathering and analyzing source data to evaluate program effectiveness
