Role Overview
Regulators globally have an increasing expectation that firms have adequate systems and controls in place to mitigate against Record Keeping & Market Abuse Risk such as Insider Dealing, Market Manipulation and Dissemination.
Communication Surveillance and Mobile Capture capabilities are at the forefront of internal and external regulatory enquiries. We are looking for a Product Owner to support TP ICAP’s Communication Surveillance Tech Programme.
The Product Owner (PO) is responsible for maximizing value delivery across technology platforms by managing and prioritising the product backlog, ensuring strong business alignment, and supporting Agile delivery teams. Working closely with Product/Programme Managers, developers, UX, and business stakeholders, the PO translates strategic objectives into actionable user stories, guides delivery teams, and drives continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
Own and prioritise the Product Backlog, ensuring user stories are well defined and meet the agreed Definition of Ready.
Collaborate with Product/Programme Managers to align delivery with product strategy and roadmap.
Support development teams by clarifying requirements, providing business context, and guiding sprint goals.
Apply customer‑centric thinking using feedback, usability insights, and market inputs to validate and refine solutions.
Lead creation of user stories, acceptance criteria, and relevant artefacts such as workflows or mock‑ups.
Coordinate cross‑team delivery, managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment.
Conduct backlog grooming, prioritisation reviews, and contribute to PI planning and Agile ceremonies.
Review prototypes, proofs of concept, and completed increments to ensure they meet business needs.
Support UAT and ensure functional outcomes meet customer and business expectations.
Experience / Competences
Essential
Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role within Communications Surveillance and/or Record Keeping in the financial services or technology‑driven environments.
Strong understanding of leading market communication platforms and related capture systems such as Bloomberg. LSEG, ICE, Symphony, WhatsApp, WeCom, Smarsh, Global Relay, Behavox, etc.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum or SAFe.
Experience managing a Product Backlog with well‑defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to translate strategy and customer needs into actionable delivery items.
Competency working with Agile tooling such as Jira or Confluence.
Understanding of front‑to‑back trade lifecycle or complex enterprise technology workflows.
Knowledge of FCA Market Abuse Regulation.
Desired
Experience in financial markets, trading, broking, or liquidity solutions.
Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) or authentication frameworks (e.g., OAuth2, Okta).
Experience using design tools (e.g., Figma) for concept visualisation.
Ability to apply OKRs or outcome‑driven planning methods.
Prior involvement in SAFe Agile environments.
