About the Role

As a Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in driving strategic R&D and decision support, leading cross-team technical leadership, and owning algorithmic optimization and pricing distribution.

Responsibilities

• Strategic R&D & Decision Support
• Act as the department's scout for frontier technologies and conduct Proof of Concepts for emerging tools
• Provide data-driven benchmarking and performance evidence to support architectural decisions and validate "Build vs. Buy" strategies
• Cross-Team Technical Leadership
• Collaborate across all development teams and regions to ensure technical consistency and define rigorous engineering standards
• Influence Regional Leads through technical expertise rather than direct management
• Algorithmic Optimization & Pricing Distribution
• Own the architecture for the Pricing Distribution layer and optimize fan-out mechanisms for microsecond latency
• Audit complex logic in C++ execution algorithms and pricing models, tackling difficult algorithmic challenges in the hot path
• Quality Assurance Guidance & Audit
• Provide high-level advice on test automation framework design and act as an independent auditor of test suite coverage and efficacy
• Deep-Dive Performance Engineering
• Deep dive into .NET Core CLR internals and memory management, serving as escalation point for GC pressure and latency issues
• Profile the entire lifecycle to identify bottlenecks at the boundaries of Managed and Unmanaged code

This role creates positive change by building and maintaining mission-critical systems for price discovery, order management, and trade capture tools that empower the front office to operate efficiently and effectively across global markets, improving market infrastructure and liquidity.

Essential

• Strong engineering experience with a track record of evolving complex systems in mission-critical environments
• Expertise in C#/.NET Core with advanced proficiency in CLR, garbage collection optimization, and low-latency programming
• Strategic technical vision to evaluate new technologies and provide data-backed recommendations to leadership
• Quantitative aptitude with strong logic/math background to understand pricing flows and audit trading strategies
• Cross-functional influence to drive technical initiatives across teams via expertise rather than authority
• Polyglot readability in C++ to audit code logic for Pricing/Quant integrations
• Expert grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms
