How to Apply for Principal AI Platform Engineer

at HITACHI ENERGY

🏢 About HITACHI ENERGY

Hitachi Energy is at the forefront of advancing sustainable energy systems, aiming for a carbon-neutral future. Working here means contributing to global energy transformation while leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies. The company's commitment to innovation and sustainability makes it a unique place for engineers passionate about impactful work.

About This Role

As a Principal AI Platform Engineer, you will design and operationalize enterprise-scale agentic AI platforms on AWS, directly enabling smarter energy solutions. Your work on LLMOps, RAG architectures, and model deployment will accelerate AI adoption across the organization, driving efficiency and innovation in sustainable energy.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with a stand-up to align with the AI platform team on sprint goals, followed by designing a new agentic workflow using Bedrock AgentCore. You'll then review pull requests for LLM evaluation pipelines, troubleshoot a SageMaker deployment issue, and end the day collaborating with data scientists on RAG optimization for energy data.

🎯 Who HITACHI ENERGY Is Looking For

  • 10+ years of software engineering or AI platform experience, with a strong focus on AWS environments.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, and SageMaker for building agentic AI workflows.
  • Proven track record of building LLMOps frameworks including prompt management, model orchestration, and evaluation pipelines.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with scalable RAG architectures and vector search solutions.

📝 Tips for Applying to HITACHI ENERGY

1

Highlight specific projects where you built agentic AI platforms on AWS, detailing the use of Bedrock and SageMaker.

2

Quantify your impact: mention scale (e.g., number of models, latency improvements, cost reductions) in previous roles.

3

Showcase your LLMOps experience by describing frameworks you built for prompt versioning, monitoring, or evaluation.

4

Tailor your resume to emphasize sustainability or energy-related AI applications, even if tangential.

5

Include links to GitHub or portfolios demonstrating your Python and AI platform work.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter
