What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, TSAT, ETAP, etc.
  • Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit, and dynamic in PSSE and conduct IBR operational capability analysis: voltage/frequency ride-through assessment using PSCAD.
  • Perform assessments for compliance with NERC operation and planning reliability standards and prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives, and assist in developing tools, processes, and procedures that enhance engineering study completion.

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (and higher) degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in electric power systems.
  • 3-4 years of experience as a power systems engineer with experience performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
  • Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and TSAT, and knowledge and experience with NERC compliance standards, and IBR modeling.
  • Experience automating/programing in Python, strong technical report writing skills, and proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
