Political Adviser - Food Systems

Core responsibilities:

• Implement the Brussels-based activities of our Food System work, carry out advocacy activities towards EU institutions on new intensive farming systems and lobby on related files in partnership with other political advisers and programme leaders.
• Conduct Eurogroup for Animals advocacy work on food systems, in particular insect farming for feed, connected to upcoming legislative files.
• Provide institutional stakeholders with scientific advice and policy solutions.
• Ensure close working relationships with the farm animals and political teams.

This role creates positive change by advocating for improved food systems and animal welfare policies at the EU level, influencing legislation to reduce intensive farming practices and promote more sustainable alternatives.

Required skills, experience, qualifications:

• Experience in advocacy activities towards EU institutions.
• Knowledge of food systems, particularly intensive farming systems and insect farming for feed.
• Ability to provide scientific advice and policy solutions to institutional stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with political teams and other advisers.
