Policy Associate

• Engage and coordinate multiple stakeholders, including policymakers and scientists, to advance AI risk management policies
• Advocate for public investment in reliable, safe, and secure AI technologies
• Coordinate a coalition of top international researchers working on ambitious safe-by-design research agendas
• Work across government advice, public policy contributions, and advocacy aligned with SaferAI's mission

This role creates positive change by advancing AI risk management policies that reduce extreme risks from advanced AI systems, coordinating international researchers on safe-by-design agendas, and influencing government policies to ensure AI technologies are developed safely.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in policy analysis, government, international organizations within AI policy/safety, or technical background moving into policy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to craft compelling policy narratives
• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with dozens of stakeholders
• Ability to quickly grasp and synthesize complex technical AI safety concepts for policy audiences
• Excellent organization, autonomy, attention to detail, and ability to own entire project parts
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-intensity environment with competing priorities
• Mission alignment with SaferAI's goal of ensuring AI technologies are safe
