Policy and Campaigns Manager (Maternity cover)

Core Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Executive Director, develop a compelling case for a standards-based approach to the training and welfare of assistance dogs
• Gather, analyze, and apply robust evidence to strengthen ADUK's credibility and influence on policy and campaigning issues
• Work with the Executive Director to identify opportunities for engaging with policymakers and supporting positive policy change
• Develop and deliver written and in-person reports and briefings for politicians, policy officials, and other decision-makers

This role champions reforms that pave the way for better access for all disabled people partnered with assistance dogs, amplifying the voices of those whose lives are transformed by these dogs and ensuring their rights are protected for years to come.

Required skills and experience:

• Experience working in policy, public affairs/campaigning role with understanding of policy development process
• Experience convening and facilitating advisory groups, panels or stakeholder forums
• Experience planning and delivering events, workshops or meetings supporting policy or stakeholder engagement
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop positive working relationships with diverse people and organizations
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with experience producing briefings and consultation responses
