People Operations Coordinator

Core responsibilities:

• Execute high-volume Operations onboarding (weekly cohorts), including background checks, I-9 coordination, and Day 1 readiness
• Maintain the New Hire Tracker and process employee data transactions in Workday/other systems with strong accuracy and timeliness
• Proactively follow up with new hires, recruiting, and internal partners to confirm new hire start dates, resolve blockers, and manage changes; escalate risks/issues with sound judgment
• Identify recurring onboarding friction points and improve trackers, templates, and checklists to increase speed and quality while protecting confidentiality

This role supports initiatives that enhance the employee experience at Nuro, helping maintain smooth People operations that enable the company's mission of making autonomy accessible to all.

Required skills and experience:

• 2+ years of experience in People Operations, HR coordination, Recruiting Coordination, or HR administration, ideally in a high-growth or scaling environment
• Experience coordinating compliance-oriented steps such as background checks, I-9 verification, etc.
• Direct experience supporting employee onboarding workflows and comfortable managing high-volume, deadline-driven work
• Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

This is a temporary, full-time position with full benefits. Base hourly rate is $30-$40 per hour, which translates to approximately $62,400-$83,200 annually based on 40-hour work weeks.
