JOB DESCRIPTION Part-Time Development Associate The Random Farms Kids' Theater is seeking an eager, detail-oriented, and proactive Development Associate to support the Executive Team (CEO, Development Director, and Artistic Director) in fundraising, donor relations, and development operations. This position plays a key role in sustaining and growing the organization’s individual giving, grant funding, and outreach initiatives. This is a primarily remote position, with occasional attendance required at events, performances, or meetings throughout the year. ABOUT THE COMPANY Random Farms is a not-for-profit organization that offers musical theater programming to young people from kindergarten through high school. The company was founded in 1995 and currently serves approximately 850 young people each year, with an annual operating budget of 1.9million. It is staffed by 13 full time employees, 3 part-time employees, and several part-time contractors. RESPONSIBILITIES Individual Giving Conduct donor prospect research and assist with strategic solicitation planning Support CEO and Development Director with major gift cultivation and solicitation meetings Maintain regular donor communications, including check-ins and personalized follow-ups Manage donor recognition and benefits Assist with annual gala, donor stewardship initiatives, annual giving campaigns, and other special appeals Donation / Pledge Processing Maintain accurate and timely donation acknowledgment workflows Record and process incoming gifts in the donor database Track corporate matching gift opportunities and communicate with donors as needed Set up and manage pledge schedules, reminders, and tracking Prepare donor reports and giving summaries as requested Grants Research public and private grant opportunities Assist with grant applications, submissions, and supporting materials Track deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations Maintain institutional funder portals and document records Organize grant files and reporting materials for audit and reference purposes Admin Attend weekly check-ins with the CEO or Development Director Assist with short- and long-term fundraising strategy planning Prepare development reports, donor lists, and data summaries Outreach Responsible for logistics and communications for outreach and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives Collaborate with Artistic Director to fill program spaces by contacting community and nonprofit partners Assist in cultivating non-profit and community partnerships QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising preferred Demonstrated experience with donor relations, fundraising campaigns, or grant support strongly preferred Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with donor databases or CRM systems (specifically, Salesforce-based systems) preferred Proficiency in Google Workspace Apps, especially Sheets Comfort working in a small, collaborative nonprofit environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive donor information Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with donors, staff, and board members Interest in the arts, education, or youth programming is a plus Willingness to occasionally attend evening or weekend events in Westchester County, NY JOB DETAILS Location: Remote, with occasional in-person events in Westchester County, NY.
