About the Role
Part-Time Controller
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end financial reporting packages including income statements, balance sheets, budget comparisons, and KPIs
- Maintain the general ledger, review transactions, and prepare journal entries for accurate accrual-based accounting
- Manage accounts payable subledger, process grants and operating expense invoices, and oversee coding of travel and expense transactions
- Assist with cash management, quarterly excise tax calculations, and support external auditors during annual audits

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of direct accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related business field
- Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Proficiency with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
