Responsibilities / What You'll Do

• Maintain monthly bookkeeping (Quickbooks Online) and related budget document updates
• Administer payroll and benefits (OnPay) and process payment of invoices and other expenses
• Support development and maintenance of organizational and program budget documents
• Support grants administration, budgeting, reporting and compliance, including federal government grants
• Manage agreements with partners, contractors and collaborators
• Support management of fundraising opportunity pipeline (Salesforce) and related tracking/management of grants, donations and other revenue
• Research and recommend new operational software and systems
• Keep workflows up to date and secure using team project management software and cloud storage

This role supports Land Core's mission to advance soil health programs and policies that create value for farmers, businesses and communities, helping to create necessary infrastructure and market-based economic incentives for rapid adoption of regenerative soil health practices.

Required skills and experience:

• 7+ years of experience in finance and operations
• Familiarity with California-based non-profit operations and related legal and tax requirements
• Demonstrated experience supporting budgeting, cash flow management and bookkeeping
• Experience building and implementing operational systems and financial controls in small to mid-sized organizations
• Proven ability to translate financial data into clear reporting for leadership and stakeholders
• Experience designing and improving internal processes, workflows, and performance metrics
• Fluent with Quickbooks Online

Compensation: $35-40/hour, commensurate with experience. Hours: ~20 hrs per week. Type of work: 1099 independent contractor. Location: Remote/virtual; time zones aligned with the continental US (PST - EST) strongly preferred. Start date: Flexible; March 2026 preferred.
