How to Apply for One-Year Data Assistant

at Earthjustice

๐Ÿข About Earthjustice

Earthjustice is the largest nonprofit environmental law organization in the United States, dedicated to using the power of the law to protect the planet and fight climate change. Working here means contributing to high-impact legal battles that safeguard public health, wildlife, and natural resources. As a remote employee, you'll be part of a passionate team committed to environmental justice.

About This Role

As a One-Year Data Assistant, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor and funder data in Earthjustice's CRM, directly supporting the organization's fundraising efforts. By managing data entry, hygiene routines, and project intake, you enable the development team to focus on building relationships that fuel environmental advocacy. Your meticulous work helps Earthjustice track and communicate its impact to supporters.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

Your day begins by checking the data entry inbox and processing funder emails into the CRM with high accuracy. You then review the project intake board, enter bulk communications requests, and update statuses. After lunch, you run scheduled data hygiene reports, such as deduplication checks, and track metrics on data quality to report to your supervisor.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Earthjustice Is Looking For

  • Has at least one year of data entry or processing experience, ideally with high-volume repetitive tasks.
  • Is proficient with donor databases, especially Raiser's Edge or Blackbaud Enterprise CRM.
  • Demonstrates strong Excel skills, including data sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.
  • Is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with routine data hygiene tasks to maintain data integrity.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Earthjustice

1

Highlight any experience with Raiser's Edge or Blackbaud CRM explicitly in your resume and cover letter.

2

Quantify your efficiency in past data entry roles (e.g., 'Processed 500+ records per week with 99% accuracy').

3

Mention specific Excel functions you've used (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) that relate to data cleaning.

4

Tailor your cover letter to Earthjustice's missionโ€”show passion for environmental causes, not just data skills.

5

Proofread your application for typos; data accuracy is critical for this role.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

['Your commitment to accuracy and data integrity, with specific examples from past roles.', "Your familiarity with donor CRMs, especially Raiser's Edge or Blackbaud, and how you've used them.", 'Your ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently without losing focus.', "Your enthusiasm for Earthjustice's mission and how your work supports their environmental impact."]
