How to Apply for O4A Fellow

at 4A American Alliance of Artists & Audiences (4A Arts)

🏢 About 4A American Alliance of Artists & Audiences (4A Arts)

4A Arts is a national nonprofit dedicated to mobilizing Americans around the importance of arts, culture, design, and craft. Through its Organizing for the Arts (O4A) initiative, it partners with state advocacy groups to build grassroots support for public investment in the arts. Working here means being part of a movement that values creativity and civic engagement, with a focus on building lasting infrastructure for arts advocacy.

About This Role

As an O4A Fellow, you'll work closely with a State Arts Advocacy Organization (SAAO) for 16 weeks, serving as the first field layer of 4A Arts' national network. Your work will include member recruitment, civic engagement, and building advocacy capacity from the ground up. This role is impactful because you'll be creating a lasting foundation for arts advocacy in your state while collaborating with a national cohort of peers.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve checking in with your SAAO supervisor, making calls or sending emails to prospective members, and updating membership databases. You might also spend time researching potential contacts or preparing for virtual meetings with your national cohort. Each day is varied, balancing independent work with collaboration and always keeping the goal of building lasting advocacy capacity in mind.
