Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional Director

Core responsibilities:

• Lead the development, execution, and refinement of Evergreen's regional policy agenda across key states in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region
• Design and drive ambitious, politically viable state-level climate policy and advocacy strategies aligned with national goals
• Build, maintain, and deepen trusted relationships with government officials, political staff, and key stakeholders across the region
• Manage regional team members, contract lobbyists, and external consultants while fostering collaborative team culture

This role drives climate leadership across key states by advancing ambitious clean energy policies, creating tangible policy wins that contribute to defeating the climate crisis and building a just, inclusive clean energy future with millions of jobs.

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in state-level climate/clean energy advocacy and campaigning with policy development expertise
• Proven ability to lead and manage teams with direct and indirect managerial oversight responsibilities
• Deep political acumen and experience navigating complex political, policy and stakeholder landscapes
• Strong relationship management skills with elected officials and their staff, and demonstrated success building stakeholder buy-in
