Mission

What you will drive

  • Identify, prioritize, plan, and implement stream restoration projects to improve fish passage, streamflow, habitat, and water quality in Western North Carolina.
  • Collaborate with federal, state, local, and nonprofit partners to advance conservation goals.
  • Manage budgets, grants, and reporting; assist with permitting and geomorphic surveys.
  • Engage volunteers and communicate project successes to diverse audiences.

This role directly restores coldwater habitats for native Brook Trout and other aquatic species, improving water quality and ecosystem resilience in heavily impacted watersheds of the Southern Appalachians.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field and minimum 2 years of conservation project management experience.
  • Knowledge of fisheries, aquatic resource management, geomorphology, or restoration design.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with grant writing/management and Microsoft Office; valid driverโ€™s license.
