New Roots Institute Fellowship

Core responsibilities:

• Participate in a six-week virtual Leadership Academy to learn about factory farming and advocacy strategies
• Launch and lead advocacy campaigns on campus and in the community to challenge industrial animal agriculture
• Build and manage a team of changemakers to shift conversations around factory farming
• Develop leadership skills through mentorship from experts in advocacy, policy, and leadership

This fellowship creates positive change by equipping participants with the skills and support to challenge industrial animal agriculture on campuses and in communities, ultimately working to dismantle factory farming systems.

Required qualifications:

• Passion for creating change in the food system and challenging industrial animal agriculture
• Ability to commit to the program schedule (Leadership Academy: June 30-August 6, 2026; Academic Year Fellowship: September 23, 2026-April 9, 2027)
• Open to students and recent graduates (based on testimonials mentioning university affiliation)
• No specific technical skills mentioned - focus is on advocacy and leadership potential
