Mission

What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of electoral campaigns within SURJ's National Organizing Department to prevent authoritarian consolidation and win back governing power
  • Set up online and in-person infrastructure in target electoral races to meet short- and long-term campaign and movement goals
  • Identify and develop members and leaders within SURJ's base to hold roles in volunteer-run operations through recruitment, tracking progress, troubleshooting, and adjusting plans
  • Participate in basebuilding, campaigning, and maintain excellent communication with staff across the organization

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with volunteer recruitment, training and management
  • Demonstrated ability developing member leaders into taking on responsibility on campaigns
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Familiarity with online organizing tools (Slack, Google Drive, EveryAction, etc.)
  • Experience doing organizing on issues of racial justice and knowledge of organizing tools/software
  • Strong written communication, public speaking, training, and facilitation skills
