Managing Marine Consultant - Water/Sediment Quality Specialist (Mid-Senior Level)

• Deliver high-quality marine water/sediment quality Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and specialist advice to UK and overseas Operators, Governments, and Regulators.
• Focus on water/sediment quality and Water Framework Directive (WFD) compliance within EIAs and associated documentation.
• Provide support in writing proposals and contribute to survey design for marine projects.
• Work within ERM's Marine Centre of Excellence to offer world-leading marine environmental and planning consultancy services.

This role creates positive change by delivering environmental impact assessments that help protect marine ecosystems, ensure compliance with regulations like the Water Framework Directive, and support sustainable development in sectors such as offshore wind and renewable energy.

• BSc or MSc in a relevant technical subject with knowledge across industries like oil and gas decom, CCS, renewables, and aggregates.
• Strong scientific understanding and track record in WFD compliance assessment, plankton/biogeochemical cycles, water chemistry, and water discharges advice.
• Good knowledge of UK marine biodiversity, marine habitat classification, sublittoral benthic survey design, and relevant European/domestic legislation.
• Extensive experience with MS Office, enthusiastic attitude, and willingness to learn; 5+ years professional experience in marine consultancy is desirable.
