Mission

What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Deliver marine ornithology elements of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) including desk studies, scoping reports, Preliminary Environmental Information Reports (PEIRs), and EIA chapters
  • Manage specialist technical input to PEIRs and EIAs using information from third parties/external subcontractors, such as Collision Risk Modelling (CRM) and Population Viability Analysis (PVA)
  • Review, question/challenge, and resolve conclusions from key assessment aspects
  • Support development of in-house capabilities in ornithological aspects of EIA and Natura 2000 Assessments

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications and experience:

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant technical subject
  • Knowledge and experience across seabed user industries including offshore wind, oil and gas decom, CCS, renewables, and marine aggregates
  • Strong robust scientific understanding and track record of marine ornithology, species ecology, and associated impact assessments
  • Strong understanding of Collision Risk Modelling and Population Viability Assessments
  • Good knowledge of UK's marine biodiversity and ecosystems
  • Knowledge of seabird survey design and data types (e.g., Digital Aerial Survey)
  • Extensive experience with standard MS Office software
  • Awareness of relevant European and domestic legislation concerning nature conservation
