Managing Editor, Donor Communications

Core responsibilities:

• Provide editorial leadership and quality assurance for Donor Communications collateral, including reports, proposal templates, cultivation decks, and other assets
• Supervise three Development writers and provide writing coaching and training to the broader Donor Communications team
• Collaborate with Communications Department editors to align messaging strategy and share editorial best practices
• Manage project intake and prioritization for the writing team while upholding Earthjustice's mission and values

This role enhances the donor journey for Earthjustice supporters by ensuring high-quality communications that articulate the organization's vision, ultimately helping to protect people's health, preserve wildlife and places, advance clean energy, and combat climate change through legal advocacy.

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of demonstrated relevant experience in development writing
• Experience managing capacity for a high-volume communications team
• Demonstrated experience delivering writing trainings for grant writers or other persuasive writers
• Proven ability to synthesize complex program information into compelling written cases for external audiences
• Expertise in various communications vehicles including print deliverables, pitch decks, web content, and interactive multimedia
• Capacity to adopt and leverage technologies like CRM databases, CMS platforms, analytics dashboards, and collaboration tools

Salary ranges:

• San Francisco, CA or New York, NY: $123,800 – $137,500
• Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, Chicago, IL, or Washington, D.C.: $117,600 – $130,700
• Denver, CO or Philadelphia, PA: $111,400 – $123,800
• Miami, FL, or Houston, TX: $105,200 – $116,900
• Remote location: $105,200 – $137,500 (depending on specific location)
