What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive multi-year development and communications strategy aligned with organizational values, priorities, and growth goals
- Lead fundraising efforts to identify and pursue highly aligned funding opportunities, grow and diversify the funding portfolio, and secure financial resources for the organization's mission
- Oversee external communications across all platforms, ensuring consistent and values-aligned messaging that centers Black frontline communities and advances systems change
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to support team growth and performance while fostering an inclusive, positive workplace culture

Profile
What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit development and organizational communications, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Demonstrated success leading development strategies and achieving fundraising goals for organizations with multi-million-dollar budgets
- Exceptional writing skills with ability to create succinct compelling narratives and experience writing speeches, press releases, op-eds, and grant proposals
- Significant media relations experience with proven results and experience working with reporters
- Proficient in managing database software (CRM), Microsoft Office, and other relevant programs
- Passion for and commitment to advocating for progressive policies and eliminating racial and ethnic disparities

- Position is exempt and expected to work a 40-hour work week
- 90-day performance review following first 90 days
- Regular travel required for the role in addition to 4-5 in-person staff retreats per year
- Required to engage with TCLP community once a quarter
