Manager, Transmission Strategy (PJM)

The AES Corporation is seeking a Manager, Transmission Strategy (PJM) to lead the successful execution of both new and acquired projects across the United States in partnership with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transmission grid to identify new opportunities for interconnecting renewable energy projects (i.e. solar, storage, wind)
• Spearhead power flow analysis such as First Contingency Incremental Transfer Capability (FCITC), injection analysis, replicating key market and region deliverability studies
• Ability to set up and conduct automated power flow analysis using Python, or other scripting languages to expedite the analysis process
• Perform injection studies to identify the optimal interconnection locations for the placement of generator resources across the targeted study/focus region

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of working experience in renewable or traditional energy development, or transmission planning with an emphasis on generator interconnection studies.
• Proficiency in power flow software (TARA, PSS/E).
• Ability to automate generator interconnection studies on an interconnection wide basis.
• Extensive knowledge of PJM Regional Transmission Expansion Plan (RTEP), Long Term Transmission Planning Process and modeling methodology.
• Extensive knowledge of PJM Generator Interconnection study methodology.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $138,000 and $172,550/Annual. The total compensation package may also include annual bonus, full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
