Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Writes clean, maintainable, and well-designed code that works and is understandable by teammates
- Analyzes technical requirements, architecture patterns, and software solution designs for projects and adapts the code to deliver
- Performs helpful code reviews, with a good balance of responsiveness and thoroughness
- Takes ownership of functional areas and projects
- Debugs and tunes performance of the system, including DB Modeling and APM
- Builds and maintains microservices made from monolithic applications
- Enforces Engineering standards, technical guidelines, principles and best practices
- Collaborates with peers, Product and lead engineers
- Helps shape Technology vision at Project level and distribute workload
- Manages team and conflicts, develop Engineers through regular mentoring, coaching, training, goal settings, one on ones, and performance reviews
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

What makes you a great fit
Required skills and qualifications:
- Demonstrates expert-level understanding of at least one or more commonly used languages, technologies, or frameworks, such as: Front-End: Angular and TypeScript (required), Back-End: Python and Django (recommended)
- Extensive experience in software development, scripting, and project management
- Managed at least 3 people for at least one year
- Strong and effective communicator with good oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with a non-technical audience
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years programming experience (5-8 years of professional experience in software engineering preferred)

Compensation and benefits:
- Salary range: $115,000 - 130,000 annually
- 401(k) with employer match: COS offers a matching contribution of 100% up to 3% of pay and another 50% up to 5% of pay (the full match will be 4% if participants elect to defer 5%)
- Health, dental, and vision insurance: COS covers 100% of employee premium and 50% of all dependent coverage costs under the base plan
- 15 days of paid time off and 5 days of sick leave in year one
