Major Gifts Officer

Core responsibilities:

• Grow the organization's resources through innovative fundraising strategies and effective donor communications
• Lead efforts to engage and cultivate current and prospective major donors to increase contributed revenue
• Actively manage a portfolio of donor prospects including all aspects of moves management
• Develop and execute event strategies to use ACS events as fundraising vehicles
• Implement a data-driven annual giving solicitation system to improve performance metrics

This role supports ambitious goals around expanding resources from individual donors for the nation's leading progressive legal organization, helping build strong relationships with donors to advance ACS's mission.

Required qualifications:

• Five or more years of successful fundraising experience with increasing responsibility
• Record of accomplishment in fundraising with experience developing or growing a major gifts program
• Experience with planned gifts and endowments desired
• Experience building relationships with diverse constituencies
• Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree preferred)
• Commitment to ACS's mission and vision, experience in pro-democracy field a plus
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills
• Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities
