Major Donor Philanthropic Partnerships Officer

Core responsibilities:

• Cultivate, steward, and grow relationships with high-capacity individual donors and high-net-worth prospects
• Develop tailored engagement strategies, multi-year giving pathways, and meaningful donor experiences that deepen alignment with GGF's mission and values
• Collaborate across Programs, Communications, and leadership teams to ensure donor engagement is strategic, well-coordinated, and grounded in grassroots movement priorities
• Support or host donor gatherings, convenings, or curated engagement spaces that strengthen relationships and expand networks

This role mobilizes resources for grassroots climate and environmental justice movements, helping shift and mobilize the broader climate justice funding ecosystem toward more equitable, movement-led resourcing and long-term redistribution of resources to communities often excluded from mainstream funding.

Required skills and experience:

• Experience cultivating and growing relationships with major individual donors, including cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding five- and six-figure gifts
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and develop tailored engagement strategies
• Excellent writing and communication skills with ability to translate complex programmatic work into compelling narratives
• Strong analytical and organizational skills using CRM systems and portfolio data to track engagement, inform strategy, and support forecasting
• Comfort engaging critically with questions of power, privilege, and wealth with humility and commitment to justice
• Experience working collaboratively in virtual, globally distributed teams with sound judgment and emotional intelligence

Compensation and benefits:

• Gross annual salary for US-based candidates: $115,000

They apply a participatory and decentralized model in making grants to grassroots groups through regional and thematic boards of advisors to support grassroots environmental and social justice action.
