Long Term Consultant:National Specialist: Climate Change Adaptation Specialist - ADB LAO Sustainable Agrifood Systems Sector Project

• Provide technical inputs on climate resilience to consultant ToRs for project activities under Output 1 and Output 2
• Develop climate change profiles for project provinces and districts, highlighting specific climate risks and vulnerabilities
• Develop and implement strategies for integrating climate risk information into project decision-making and coordinating with relevant ADB climate change activities
• Support establishment of climate resilient production techniques for smallholders and MSMEs, and develop eligibility frameworks for climate-resilient subproject designs

This role contributes to food security, improved nutrition, and increased agricultural value addition in a climate resilient and gender-responsive manner in Lao PDR, specifically working with bamboo, cassava, coffee, durian, and tea value chains.

• Tertiary qualifications in agrometeorology, climatology, agriculture and natural resources, or rural development from a recognized institution
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in agriculture/rural development projects, including at least 5 years working on climate change assignments
• Knowledge of ADB and Government environmental policies, with experience working in Lao PDR and with ADB preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong written/verbal communication skills, and fluency in English (Thai or Lao preferred)
