Long Term Consultant: International Specialist: Food Safety Laboratory Specialist - ADB LAO Sustainable Agrifood Systems Sector Project

Core responsibilities:

• Provide technical inputs on climate resilience to consultant ToRs for project activities under Output 1 and Output 2
• Develop climate change profiles for project provinces and districts, highlighting specific climate risks and vulnerabilities
• Develop recommendations for climate adaptation approaches in agriculture, nutrition and rural infrastructure interventions
• Develop and implement strategies for integrating climate risk information into project decision-making and coordinating with related ADB climate activities

This role contributes to food security, improved nutrition, and increased agricultural value addition in a climate resilient and gender-responsive manner in Lao PDR, working with target value chains including bamboo, cassava, coffee, durian, and tea.

Required qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in biology or biochemistry at bachelor level from internationally recognized institution
• Minimum 10 years' experience in food safety laboratory operations and analytical laboratory functions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with Thai or Lao language skills preferred
