Long Term Consultant: International Specialist: Climate Change Adaptation Specialist - ADB LAO Sustainable Agrifood Systems Sector Project

• Provide technical inputs on climate resilience to consultants' Terms of Reference for project activities, ensuring alignment with climate adaptation objectives.
• Develop climate change profiles for project provinces and districts, highlighting specific climate risks and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement strategies for integrating climate risk information into project decision-making and coordinating with related ADB climate change activities.
• Support establishment of climate resilient production techniques for smallholders and develop eligibility frameworks for climate-resilient infrastructure designs.

This role contributes to food security and nutrition improvement, and increased agricultural value addition in a climate resilient and gender-responsive manner in Lao PDR, enhancing climate adaptation and resilience in sustainable agrifood systems.

• Master's degree in agrometeorology, climatology, agriculture and natural resource, or rural development from a recognized university.
• At least 15 years' experience in agriculture and rural development projects, with at least 10 years in climate change-related studies or assignments.
• Strong knowledge of ADB environmental and safeguard policies, with experience working in Lao PDR and with ADB preferred.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and fluency in English (Thai or Lao language skills preferred).
