Mission
What you will drive
Legal Fellows at EDF contribute meaningfully through regulatory advocacy and community partnership in a high-intensity, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform legal and policy research on issues related to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authority, Department of Energy programs, and federal/state siting and permitting laws
- Draft filings, comments, pleadings, and affidavits for submission to federal agencies and courts
- Participate in meetings with internal/external partners and stakeholders regarding transmission development and interconnection
- Contribute to whitepapers, blogs, and other publications advancing transmission and interconnection discussions

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications for this role:
- Recent Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school or actively seeking Bar admission
- Experience or demonstrated interest in administrative law, federal regulatory processes, and electric system law/regulation
- Excellent legal research, analytical, public speaking, and advocacy skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively
