Legal Counsel - Retail

Core responsibilities for this role include:

• Drafting consumer-facing terms and conditions across all energy, net zero installation, and services brands including British Gas, Hive, and Dyno-rod
• Providing advice on regulated products in the energy and financial services sectors, including interpretation of Ofgem licence conditions and implementation of FCA rules
• Supporting the marketing regulatory managers and governance team with customer communications and advertising
• Assisting the B2B Legal Team with relevant agreements including partner agreements, I/AR agreements, and lending agreements

This role contributes to creating an energy system that doesn't rely on fossil fuels and supports the company's commitment to igniting positive change in communities by ensuring legal compliance and supporting sustainable energy initiatives.

Required qualifications and skills:

• A qualified lawyer with demonstrable experience in regulated and non-regulated consumer environments
• Experience drafting terms and conditions and negotiating contracts
• Experience advising businesses in relation to FCA regulated consumer products and services is particularly valued
• Ability to manage diverse stakeholders, prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments, and deliver high quality commercially savvy work
