What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for investment transactions, including deal documentation, due diligence, contract review, and post-investment support
- Manage contract drafting and review for grants and commercial agreements, covering finance, banking, intellectual property, and compliance matters
- Coordinate and oversee external counsel across multiple jurisdictions, manage legal budgets, and ensure timely, pragmatic advice aligned with risk appetite
- Ensure compliance with local laws and best practices, navigate regulatory developments, and provide guidance to programmatic teams

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 8+ years experience in transactional law with strong banking/finance or commercial/corporate law background
- Experience with debt financing structures and working directly with lenders, borrowers, or investors
- Familiarity with lending-related regulatory considerations including financial services licensing, cross-border lending, and KYC/AML frameworks
- Permanently authorized to work in Kenya with license to practice law in UK, US, or France (or equivalent education/work experience)
