Legal Counsel

Core responsibilities:

• Provide general legal support to Acumen's returnable fund activities throughout the fund lifecycle
• Manage legal projects across stakeholders, coordinate legal involvement in transactions, and manage outside counsel activities
• Support fund marketing, formation, oversight, deal diligence, documentation, and contract review
• Collaborate with the legal team on various initiatives including venture capital investments and operational sustainability

This role supports Acumen's mission to break the cycle of poverty by providing legal expertise for impact investments that have already impacted over half-a-billion lives and offset 48 million metric tons of CO2.

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience practicing corporate law and managing legal projects across stakeholders
• Experience with funds formation, governmental funders, and impact/charttable organizations preferred
• Strong organizational, diplomacy, and communication skills with ability to work independently under pressure
• Must be licensed to practice law in the US with JD or equivalent, and authorized to work in the US

Salary range: $90,000 to $120,000 USD plus performance-based bonus. Hybrid work model with 3 days in office. Equal pay policy based on market comparison.
