Lead Cloud Engineer

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of cloud infrastructure and applications across web, mobile, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain scalable systems.
• Champion modern software development practices including CI/CD, IaC, observability, and test automation.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of systems while promoting a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

This role directly contributes to reducing food waste by building scalable cloud systems that power Mill's residential and commercial food recycling solutions, diverting millions of pounds of food scraps from landfills and keeping food in the food system.

• 6+ years as a cloud/backend engineer with strong API design experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (AWS IoT is a plus) and cloud-native data streaming tools like Kinesis.
• Strong background in Python and solid understanding of serverless architectures and IaC (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, CDK).
• Excellent communication skills and passion for building reliable systems with deep knowledge of observability and performance.

Estimated base salary range: $220k to $250k, plus benefits and potential equity grant. Compensation based on skill sets, experience, and market conditions.
