Senior Major Gifts Officer

• Build and deepen relationships with major and principal donors to secure significant gifts.
• Coordinate funder strategy across programs, mapping funders to initiatives and sequencing asks.
• Coach program directors on effective funder communication and engagement.
• Manage grant proposal steps, timelines, and stewardship to close funding opportunities.

This role directly accelerates climate solutions by securing philanthropic funding for underinvested areas, enabling Spark to build fields and drive progress on critical climate challenges.

• 7+ years of frontline fundraising or comparable sales/business development experience with a track record of closing six- and seven-figure deals.
• Experience building a portfolio of new relationships in a growth-stage or start-up environment.
• Proven ability to work with scientific or technical organizations and translate complex research into compelling narratives.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, high emotional intelligence, and experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
