at Recordedfuture

๐Ÿข About Recordedfuture

Recorded Future is the worldโ€™s largest and most advanced intelligence company, serving over 1,900 clients with 1,000+ intelligence professionals. Working here means contributing to a mission-driven organization that helps global organizations stay ahead of cyber threats, with a culture that values innovation and impact.

About This Role

As the APJ Accounting Manager, you will own the day-to-day execution of accounting operations for Australia, India, Japan, and Singapore, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Your work directly supports the company's global compliance and strategic decision-making, making you a critical link between regional operations and global finance.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

Your day starts by checking emails and prioritizing tasks across time zones, touching base with your APJ Accountant and outsourced providers. You might review reconciliations, handle a pressing audit request from Singapore, or prepare a month-end schedule for the Senior Manager. Afternoons are often spent in meetings with stakeholders, resolving issues, and ensuring deadlines are met, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Recordedfuture Is Looking For

  • A CPA/CA with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
  • Proven ability to manage month-end close, statutory reporting, and audits in APAC, with a strong understanding of local GAAP (e.g., Australian, Indian, Japanese, Singapore) and SOX compliance.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff, with excellent delegation and prioritization skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with outsourced providers, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Recordedfuture

1

Tailor your resume to highlight specific APAC accounting experience, especially any involvement with statutory audits and SOX controls.

2

Quantify your achievements, such as reducing close time by X% or managing audits for multiple entities simultaneously.

3

Research Recorded Future's business model and recent news to show your understanding of the intelligence industry and how finance supports it.

4

In your cover letter, explicitly address your experience with outsourced provider management and cross-border coordination.

5

If you have experience with remote team leadership, emphasize it, as this role is remote and requires managing an accountant across time zones.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

['Highlight your expertise in managing month-end close and statutory reporting for APAC entities, with specific examples of successful audits.', 'Emphasize your ability to lead and develop a team, especially in a remote or matrixed environment.', 'Showcase your proactive problem-solving skills and experience improving processes or controls.', 'Mention your familiarity with SOX compliance and local GAAP in the APJ region, and your comfort with ambiguity in a fast-growing company.']

๐Ÿ’ฌ Prepare for These Interview Topics

Based on this role, you may be asked about:

2 Describe a time you managed an external audit. How did you coordinate with auditors and internal teams to ensure a smooth process?
3 How have you handled a situation where an outsourced provider was not meeting SLAs? What steps did you take?
4 Given the remote nature of this role, how do you effectively lead and motivate an accountant who may be in a different time zone?
