How to Apply for Learning Engineer [Lab Schools Focus]
at Playlab
🏢 About Playlab
Playlab is a tech non-profit that empowers educators and students to become critical consumers and creators of AI through open-source tools and hands-on professional development. With over 40,000 educators publishing AI apps, Playlab's community-driven approach is unique in the education space, making it an exciting place to work for those passionate about equitable and creative AI integration in learning.
About This Role
As a Learning Engineer for the AI Lab Schools cohort, you'll partner with 2-3 schools over a 24-month journey to redesign teaching and learning around AI. You'll guide teachers from discovery through scale, building custom AI apps and an open-source playbook, directly impacting how AI is used in classrooms across the nation.
💡 A Day in the Life
Your day might start with a virtual check-in with a school team to review prototype feedback from a classroom pilot. Then you'd spend time iterating on an AI app based on teacher input, followed by a co-design session with educators to plan the next phase of implementation. Afternoon could involve documenting learnings for the open-source playbook and collaborating with other learning engineers on cross-cohort challenges.
