Senior Software Engineer

• Lead backend development, building and maintaining server-side logic for Mozilla's Ecosystem Services.
• Own services end-to-end: deploy, operate, and keep them healthy in production, including on-call support.
• Collaborate with CloudEng to maintain and improve production environments, monitoring and alerting.
• Partner with frontend and cross-functional teams to align on project goals and API design.

This role directly contributes to building and maintaining the backend platforms that power Mozilla's privacy-focused products, serving millions of users and helping to make the internet more open and accessible for everyone.

• 4+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies.
• Strong professional experience with Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Rust building back-end services.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL query optimization, including relational schema design and migrations with Knex.
• Hands-on DevOps experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with Docker-based pipelines, and experience with observability tools like Sentry and Grafana.
