How to Apply for Lead Manager, Salesforce Administration & Support

at Makeawishamerica

🏢 About Makeawishamerica

Make-A-Wish America is the world's largest wish-granting organization, uniting communities to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Working here means being part of a mission-driven culture that values compassion, community, and the belief that a wish can be transformative. This is a unique opportunity to use your technical skills to directly support a cause that brings joy to children and families.

About This Role

As the Salesforce Administration & Support Lead, you will manage the internal Salesforce support queue, administer the organization's Salesforce environments, and partner with internal and third-party teams for development and testing. Your work ensures that the Salesforce ecosystem runs smoothly, enabling the organization to efficiently manage wish-granting operations and donor relationships, ultimately helping to grant more wishes.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start by reviewing and prioritizing the Salesforce support queue, then resolving tickets or escalating them to developers. You'd spend time collaborating with team members on system improvements, testing new features, and meeting with functional leaders to understand their needs. The rest of the day could involve data cleanup, user training, or documenting processes – all while working remotely and staying connected via virtual tools.

🎯 Who Makeawishamerica Is Looking For

  • Certified Salesforce Administrator with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce administration, including user management, security, and data management.
  • Experience managing a support queue and providing end-user support, with a strong customer service mindset and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues timely.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce development concepts (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning) and experience partnering with developers for testing and deployment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to liaise between technical teams and functional leaders, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Self-starter who can work remotely, manage multiple priorities, and proactively identify system improvements.
  • Passion for the mission of Make-A-Wish and a desire to contribute to a positive, mission-driven work environment.

📝 Tips for Applying to Makeawishamerica

1

Tailor your resume to highlight Salesforce Admin certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Administrator) and specific achievements in managing support queues or improving system efficiency, using metrics where possible.

2

In your application, mention any experience with non-profit organizations or CRM implementations for fundraising or case management, as this is highly relevant to Make-A-Wish's operations.

3

Since the role is remote, emphasize your ability to work independently and your experience with virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Jira) in your cover letter or resume.

4

Research Make-A-Wish's Salesforce usage (e.g., they might use Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud or NPSP) and mention how your skills align with their specific needs in your cover letter.

5

Ensure your application is free of errors and demonstrates attention to detail, as this is crucial for a support and administration role.
