Mission

What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Conducting research, including data analysis, on critical areas of concern related to disability inclusion, e.g., economic participation, inclusive employment and business, digital inclusion, accessibility and assistive technology, women and girls with disabilities
  • Assisting in organizing and convening internal and external meetings
  • Contributing to the preparation of various written outputs and data visualization, e.g., draft background papers, speeches and presentations
  • Providing substantive and administrative support for implementing technical cooperation projects on disability-inclusive employment and business and digital inclusion

This role supports ESCAP's work on disability inclusion, including mainstreaming disability inclusion in all areas of ESCAP work and implementing the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy, creating more inclusive societies in the Asia-Pacific region.

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) OR be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent)
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter
  • Have demonstrated the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different backgrounds and beliefs
