Intern in Manufacturing Engineering

Core responsibilities:

• Design & Manufacturing Support: Contribute to the design, manufacturing, and industrialization of sorbent structures for CO₂ capture.
• Manufacturing Process Development: Work on packages to understand and improve manufacturability in early-stage product and machine development.
• Prototype Development: Assist in the design, fabrication, and testing of prototypes; conduct basic experiments to validate concepts and troubleshoot issues.
• Documentation & Communication: Validate, troubleshoot, and clearly document work to ensure effective communication within larger projects.

This role contributes to advancing Direct Air Capture technology for carbon removal, accelerating the global transition to net zero and helping businesses, governments, and society achieve climate goals through high-quality carbon removal solutions.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Education: Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Materials Science, or similar; vocational training is a plus.
• Hands-on Experience: Comfortable working in labs or workshops with experience in prototyping and basic testing.
• CAD & Simulation: Ability to operate CAD software and initial experience in design and simulation of parts and assemblies.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes for metals and polymers; knowledge of composites is beneficial.
• Problem-Solving & Learning: Enthusiastic about creative problem-solving and eager to learn new concepts, skills, and tools.
• Working Style: Reliable, motivated, solution-oriented, concise, and structured in approach.
• Languages: Fluent in English; German is beneficial but not required.
• Availability: Available for a 6-month internship starting in March and motivated to support industrialization projects on design and manufacturing.

Compensation and perks:

• For internships based in Switzerland: During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month; After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
