Institutional Giving Director

• Manage a portfolio of foundation and corporate prospects, leading cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to secure commitments and achieve an annual base revenue goal of $1M.
• Identify and qualify new institutional funders through proactive outreach, research, and collaboration, building a strong pipeline of prospects.
• Develop and write high-quality proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and stewardship materials that translate program data and stories into persuasive narratives.
• Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership partners to shape funding strategy, budgets, and metrics, ensuring submissions are strategic and aligned with funder priorities.

This role directly advances Outward Bound USA's mission to expand access to transformative outdoor learning experiences for young people, particularly for historically underserved communities, by securing critical institutional funding that supports national initiatives and network schools.

• Proven success securing six- and seven-figure gifts from foundations and corporations, or a demonstrable track record closing comparable complex institutional funding.
• 5+ years of experience in grant writing, institutional fundraising, and/or nonprofit development with clear accountability for revenue results.
• Intermediate skill in Salesforce (or similar CRM), including maintaining clean pipeline data, relationship notes, and activity tracking.
• Experience developing proposal budgets and working with finance/program partners on financial reporting and grant deliverables.

Full-time, remote, exempt position. Annual salary range: $95,000-$110,000.
