Job Summary
We are seeking an Infectious Disease Surveillance Advisor to join our Global Health Programs team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to countries to strengthen their infectious disease surveillance systems. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the global effort to prevent and control infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to countries to strengthen their infectious disease surveillance systems
- Collaborate with country teams to develop and implement surveillance plans
- Conduct surveillance assessments and provide recommendations for improvement
- Develop and disseminate surveillance guidelines and tools
- Provide training and capacity building to country teams
- Stay up-to-date with the latest surveillance technologies and methods
About the Role
- The Infectious Disease Surveillance Advisor will work closely with the Global Health Programs team to provide technical assistance to countries
- The role requires strong technical expertise in infectious disease surveillance, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills
- The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team
- The role requires a strong understanding of global health issues and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. epidemiology, public health, infectious disease medicine)
- 5+ years of experience in infectious disease surveillance
- Strong technical expertise in infectious disease surveillance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of global health issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English (additional languages an asset)
