Industrial Design Intern – Mobility & Infrastructure

As an Industrial Design Intern, you will contribute to the design of the Glydcar vehicle and physical touchpoints of transit stations and guideway infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

• Form Development: Generate innovative concepts prioritizing passenger comfort, accessibility (ADA compliance), and safety in an autonomous environment
• Digital Modeling: Build and iterate on complex surfaces using CATIA, NX, Solidworks, or Rhino to ensure production-ready designs
• Human Factors: Conduct ergonomic studies to optimize boarding and riding experiences for diverse users
• Prototyping: Assist in creating full-scale mockups and rapid prototypes to test spatial layouts and material finishes
• Visualization: Produce high-fidelity renders and animations for investor and city-planning presentations

Required qualifications and skills for this role:

• Education: Currently enrolled in a BFA/BS or MFA program in Industrial Design or Transportation Design
• Software Savvy: Proficiency in 3D modeling (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks or Rhino) and Adobe Creative Suite
• Maker Mindset: Experience with physical model making, 3D printing, and understanding of manufacturing processes
• Mission-Driven: Genuine interest in sustainability, urban planning, and the future of public transportation
